Default GMPP intake clearence...

I purchased a Edelbrock carb intake and elbow from intakeelbows.com. It did not fit under the hood of my 02 SS.Now I will try it with a GMPP intake, does anyone know for sure if that will fit under a SS hood? I emailed Aaron from intakeelbows.com and even he is not sure. any pics would be even better

hmmm.. kinda offtopic but, what kind of gains do you expect with the carb intake and elbow? and where in the rpm range will it move power?

Kinda asking because I have a sunoco from VFN and it has 2-3" of extra cowl hieght right about where that elbow would go.

have you thought about possibly just milling down the area the elbow mounts to? i know (forgot screenname, works for B&M?) did this with the SS. "Jennibella" comes to mind in the sig

here's what they said about the GMPP intake(which i think is shorter)

12secSS i believe is the screenname

That is our intake setup, and as Fireball posted, it wont clear without issues. I had the GMPP intake milled .25 and the elbow based milled .3 and you can see we still had to trim the cowl area. We are using a Glasstek pin-on hood and it just barely rubs, and that is with the top of the elbow was milled as well.

i think i might be backwards on the GMPP and the Vic, I think the Vic is about 1/2 taller? than the GMPP but for some reason i dont think the GMPP has Bungs, anyway i dont like how small the elbow gets , kinda defeats the purpose of the intake to me.

yeah I saw that it gets pretty small, but I think the turbo will be able to help that out.
