just spray it down with some simple green, let it soak, and then rinse off

haha, vinegar....may i also suggest painting it a cool color before you install? It may be a bitch to mask off, but it will give a nicer custom look if done right.

Masking it off was the easy part. The bitch was all the sanding, especially down in the crevices. Quite a few hours in sanding but it's all worth it.

Simple green will work most of the time, but my LS6 had like baked on oil caked all over it and that **** would NOT come off and simple green just turned it all red. I more or less had to sand it all off, even a pressure washer wouldn't take care of it.

Good luck, painted intakes always look great if you put the time into prepping it right.

I don't think that you can clean it if you didnt buy it off www.LS1tech.com.

LOL!

Actually carb cleaner and a rag will do wonders. Make sure that you pull the rubber gaskets off though if you chose to do that option. Not sure how that affects the integrity of the rubber material of the gaskets mixing it with something like carb cleaner.

I used carb and choke cleaner and then a high air pressure blower from our shop to spray out the gunk and cleaner. let it dry REAL good then put it on.

I've cleaned up some serious disasters with Gunk brand Foamy Engine Brite. My DD looked like someone took 10 gallons of mud/water dumped under the hood.

1 Pass with long bristled wheel brush + foamy, then 1 pass with simple green and clean brush, then thorough rinse/air dry = blang blang.

Here's what the stuff looks like....
