Default magnaflow bullets vs. spiral flow mufflers for TD's

which of these mufflers (spiral flows or Magnaflow bullets) would be louder on a True Dual system w/ cats / H-pipe/ and Over The Axle?

Which would have a better sound?

Go with the magnaflows, the spiral flows do not flow very well. I picked up 9 HP with an open cutout on a bolton car with my spiral flow setup, I now run a magnaflow bullet.

did you have a y-pipe setup with a spiral flow in the I-pipe? that's the only way i can see them being restrictive, which is a very poor control. on a true dual system, they should flow fine because each only has to support 4 cylinders instead of 8.

the spiral flows i think would be louder, and IMO, they sound MUCH better than the magnaflows

You know what I think... My buddy has spiral flows on his SCed Viper which put down 630rwhp... don't think they're too restrictive. He has more than 2 on there I believe too. I love mine.

I realize my opinion is biased, but I don't know if there's gonna be many people who aren't biased (ran TDs with both mufflers at different times). Good luck.

My setup is with a y-pipe, no cats, had a single spiral flow. Car made 307 on a mustang dyno with the cutout open, repeatedly. Closed the cutout and made 298 repeatedly. I switched to a magnaflow bullet and now the car makes 318 on the same dyno, through the muffler, I tuned it after the swap to the magnaflow, with the spiral flow/cutout it was untuned. Mods are pulley, LT's, lid, and the full exhaust. A 10 HP drop on a bolton car is unacceptable for me.

sorry man, i've NEVER liked the way a magnaflow sounds. that includes their catback and their bullets for true duals. they sound too exotic. there's no grunt - no *****, no bass. plus their tips are generally ugly. the only magnaflow products i like are their metallic core cats. they look very nice. i mean, i know magnaflow is a very high quality brand and all. they make great products, have great quality control, usually have one of the higher flow rates of all other manufacturers and are relatively inexpensive for what you get by comparison, but i'm just not into their stereotypical sound. i'm into the stereotypical flowmaster sound. the magnaflow sound sounds...i don't know, not good. it's hard to describe. meh, to each his own, right?

I recently got TD's over the axle with Spiral Flows. I lost 0 rwhp vs when I had dual cutouts after the collecters, and picked up some more TQ. They sound way cleaner than the cut outs and have way better throttle response. The Butt Dyno also says the car feels faster than when I had the cut outs.

I'm also not a fan of the Magnaflows. I picked Spiral Flows because they seem to have a more distinguished sound than the Sweet Thunders.

My pulls were on the same day, back to back, I made over 10 pulls that day. Only explanation is the single 3" was really choking it. I will not run them again.

4 rwhp difference between spiral flows and dual cutouts here.
