Default Question About Cut-Outs

i was wondering about what all cut outs do, performance and gas mileage wise. How much horsepower does it increase and does it lower your gas mileage because it seems like evrytime i look down to see my gas meter it keeps going down
thanks

my gas mileage didnt change, and i doubt it is worth a whole bunch of horsepower, but it is worth some. i figure the more your car breaths the more the cutout will help you out, with the smallest gains being on a stock car...

The gains all depend on whats behind the cutout, if you have a stock catback the cutout will be worth around 10-15 HP, but if you have a magnaflow or a SLP LM catback it will probally do 1-3 HP becuase whats behind it isnt that restrictive.

Your gas mileage goes down b/c with the cutout open you're foot's in the gas more often

my cutout sounded great on stock manifolds. gas mileage went up a little bit, so did power up top. with an m6 i never put the cap back on it.

I always drive with open cutout. I love it. Its the best mod so far. I cant wait to see what it sounds like when i put on LT's and ory. Ordering them tomorrow.

PS.....i know it will have rasp but rasp doesnt bother me too much.

it will help a lot if you have the stock catback but if you have a good flowing catback it wont really add much power
