is there a difference? In other words, can I get an off road y pipe and put cats on it? How would all that work?

That's what I'm thinking.

Offroad = no cats
Catted = ????????

You can weld cats in at any time. I did it with TSP duals, see link in sig.

If you don't want to have a completly custom ypipe made, you could do that.

Start off with an ory, then select a location for the cats, then have your muffler guy weld in the cats to that location, piece of cake.

Get an ORYP and some magnaflow metallic spun-cat converters, flow 570-590cfm per cat.
~$480 before paying for instaLL of cats into y-pipe
Kooks catted y-pipe has the metallic cats in them.
