Default Header Install!!!

I have a 98 z28 and I want to buy some headers for it. Just wanna know what kind people like or dislike, and also how hard the install is. Ive heard a lot of people say the engine needs to be pulled to put on headers and stuff like that. is putting on headers somethin i could do myself or is it somethin i need to have a shop do?

thanks for all the help

Its all about the money what u wanna spend.Pacesetter for budget LT and Kooks or QTP LT's for the shiot IMO.Install..... well its not hard and its not a cake walk and the motor doesn't have to be pulled. there is enough info. on this site to pretty much cover everything you posted also you can reuse your factory header gasket no need to buy new one's just clean it up.Happy hunting...

Some people have their local shop install them but if you do that don't pay more than $200-300. Look around for a shop that specializes or is very familiar with ls1s. Having them installed can save alot of time and hassle if you can afford it and finding a ls1 familiar shop to get it done right is your best bet.

definitely go with stainless. ORY is an off road y pipe all it does is deletes the cats. But if you want to get more power go with a true dual setup with an X-pipe.

ORY = off road ypipe (ie., a ypipe without cats)

If you dont have the cash for stainless LT's i would just get the pacesetter ceramic coated LT's because u live in Roseville. Coated Lt's should be just fine there.
