Hooker catback or just muffler swap??
The only pro to doing the whole catback I can think of is the complete 3" system instead of the 2.5" stock system. Can yall think of any other reason to get the whole catback and not just the muffler? I was also thinking.....the hooker aerochamber muffler has like a flange to bolt to the hooker over-the-axle pipe.....so how would the stock over-the-axle pipe hook to the flange of the aerochamber muffler? Also, isnt the stock exhaust system stainless steel...compared to the aluminized steel hooker system??

It depends on your power level. For most it won't really make that much of a difference. How much power are you putting down? When you get up towards the 370+ rwhp level it will start to make a difference.

IIRC the stock system is 2 3/4". As far as advantages or differences. I don't think there is much difference in performance either way. The stock restriction is the muffler so if you go only muffler you will see the same gains as the whole cat back.
I have had both. First had just the muffler welded in in place of the stocker. Then later got the hooker cat back. The muffler only with the stock tips was actually louder than the cat back. Not sure if it was the tip design or what but it was. I thought it sounded very good both ways.
