Default Which cat-back is better?

I'm planning to start working on my exhaust system for my 02" trans am. For sure righ now I am going to get some Hooker super comp headers and the Y-pipe..but i am not sure which cat-back system to use? Here are some of my possibilities to choose from: Borla, Corsa, Magnaflow, Flowmaster, or SLP. I want a nice good sound and hp gain from the installation. Any suggestion on which system to choose.

i would never go buy a cat back system.just weld a bullit style mufler on before your rear axle and leave it at that.

lighter,cheaper and more HP

I've had the hooker cat back on my T/A for over 90k miles. not much louder than day 1, good deep sound, really turns heads when you you get on it. IMHO, best buy on the market!

flowmaster suck. the rest are good, but slp is the best in price.

Magnaflow. It's stainless, cheaper, has a good tone and screams at WOT, sounds good with LT's and no cats and flows very well.

You will gain more from true duals than any catback. Save up for 2.5" over-the-axle true duals.

But out of those choices I would go Magnaflow because of stainless and great sound.

slp is the least expensive and the lm is by far the loudest, i hope you dont mind interior noise and drone

corsa sounds BEAUTIFUL but is costly especially with premium tips
i have corsa on my car and im VERY HAPPY...no drone when cruising, but when you get on it its very loud and you cant miss it, the idle is just plain mean too

check out www.ls1sounds.com to hear what different setups sound like

corsa is stainless steel as well as magnaflow

but it all depends on what you want

listen and decide

It all depends on your setup. if your running cats or no cats will change the sound of everything. flowmaster is junk (just the 80 series crossflow mufflers). magneflow sounds good with cats but is way to raspy without them. Hooker is quiet but with LT's and no cats it sounds good (just got it for my T/A). borla is $$$$$$ loudmouth sounds fu*ckin retarded with Lt's and no cats trust me. it sounds good on stock. I would put my money on corsa or hooker if it was my car.

You are gonna run longtube headers, so from your list I would have to say go with Corsa or Magnaflow. The Flowmaster is garbage (flows like ), and the SLP and Borla can be loud, obnoxious, and un-refined with LT's.

If you like a quiet rumble, go with Magnaflow. I plan on switching to something a bit louder myself
