Default MAF and TB help..

I'm sorry I realized this was already talked about thousands of times in the past but I'm new again. I have a 98 Z28 with heads and cam and LS6 intake. Right now I'm running a stock TB ported and a stock MAF with the screen removed. I was wondering if I would have some gains by going with a new TB (if so what size by and what kind) and a GMS or something like that. Again I know this topic has been discussed before but I've been out of the LS1 loop for about 2 years. Thanks for the help.

the only way you will have any gains is if the intake would match the TB. Just getting a bigger TB will not do much since the opening on the intake is just so big.

So what you're saying is there would be no point to do either on. Would the LSx intake with the 90mm TB work with the stock displacement?

the LS intake is like 75mm where the TB bolts to. So lets say you put a 90mm TB on. You would get nothing because it doesn't matter how big of TB you have when the intake is only 75mm. Just remember, there is not going to be any gain unless you have an intake that has the same size inlet as the TB that you want to use. It would be like putting a 90mm tb on a stock intake. The inlet of the intake will only flow 75mm so the 90mm tb is doing nothing

Yes, but only worthwhile for extreme cases. Like huge cams or good heads and cam. Not worth the high price for most basic cam installs, and definately not worth it on a bolt on car.
