Default Export Camaro question

I have a Camaro Z28 that I believe came from Japan. I had 4 O2 sensor codes so I went to replace them and I noticed I only have 2. I always assumed I should have some pre and after cats sensors. I replaced the 2 sensors and I still had a check engine light and the car ran the exact way it ran before I installed the o2's. What's the deal here?

seeing that he is from Bahrain it would probably be easier to get one from Japan than here haha.

as for the 02 sensors i dont know how many the exports had opposed to US ones but i think you should put some headers on it and get rid of your 02s anyways

In the Middle East, the US model cars come from diferent places other than the US due to past trading agreements I believe (dont quote me on that) and certain specs required for this region for example 1998 was the last year for leaded fuel here. That means some cars that came here didnt have O2 sensors. My friends C5 didnt have any. The car also has the yellow side marker turn signal thingies, fold in side mirrors, and my dash reads in metric (which I'm working on changing as we speak). How many O2 sensors does the regular 98 Z have?

I guessing the o2 sensors are precat? You could turn them off with a programmer. An fbody has 4 o2 sensors.

That's what I was thinking. I'm also starting to think the car was tuned for no O2 sensors because driving with them connected or unpluged doesnt make the car drive any different which is wierd because when one O2 sensor went bad in my LT1 the car ran like crap and threw the A/F reading (I had a wideband) way out.

If it was tuned to run without then it shouldn't throw any codes refering to a faulty o2.

Good point also. I need some scanning/datalogging software so I can see what's going on. What are most people using HP Tuners?

I think I noticed whats wrong. The last owner attempted to install a a/f ratio gauge and cut/splice some wires going to the pcm. I need to go trace the wires and see if thats why my o2 code is still on.

What tables does the PCM default to when the o2 sensors are not detected?

not really true, you would have to also have to tell the computer to never turn on the SES light. you can tune it for no 02s, but still have it throw a code, just because you delete the 02s in a tune dosent automaticly mean that the light would never come on.

your solution is to get headers and have the post cat, or all 02s tuned out

i belive all LS1s had 4 02s, 2 pre cat, 2 post cat
