Default ticking noise after intake sawp

Did a ls1-ls6 intake swap, pulled the egr/smog stuff and installed an underdrive pulley. started it up and I now a fairly distinct ticking sound coming from the drivers side. It is pretty consistent with the idle. I pulled the valve cover and everything looks fine. Any ideas? Could I have hurt something cranking the motor while installing the pulley?

did you mess with the spark plugs or boots? might be one loose. they make a nice loud tick if there is an arc.

Dunno. You did !EGR and !AIR too? Check the block off plates for a leak. Not an injector?

Didn't touch the plug wires. The noise sounds more like near the valve covers. Could an injector make that much noise?

i would checked the stuff you messed with. its more common somthing is leaking then an internal problem developing from an intake swap. sparkplugs and wires are usually the most common for me. if you added blockoff plates put your hand around them with the engine running if you feel air you found your ticking.

Let it run for several minutes and it seems to have stopped. Must have been the lifters or in the valvetrain. The car had been sitting for several days.
