Default Anyone have 4in Mufflex Exhaust

I was just wondering if anyone had it and if you had any sound clips of it. Does anyone think that the 4in is to big? Thanks

Brian

Being cam only, 3" exhaust shouldn't be a restriction for you. The Spintech mufflers on the Mufflex have been shown to be a big bottleneck in the exhaust. I havn't seen any dynos with the Flowmaster muffler that they offer.

The link in my signature has pics/videos of a very free flowing custom 4" exhaust we did on our shop car.

I've seen dynos of the Mufflex/Spintech combo costing over 40hp on a stroker motor.

It's just the muffler. The one with the Magnaflow should be a great setup.

But what about the Y pipe, yes the exhaust could take some of the blame, but you also should include that some Y pipes are a problem

Love mine. It has the Flowmaster, not the Spintech. Sounds like a big block at idle and sounds insane at WOT. Emailed you a sound clip. Enjoy.

I've got the 4" mufflex with the flowmaster. It's the best sounding fbody exhaust. It is not the best flowing. You'll want a cut out if you are concerned with dyno numbers and track results.

I'd change set ups if you run the cut out most of the time. That mufflex is HEAVY! I'm swapping my Flowmaster muffler for a 4" Magnaflow. It wont sound as good, as the tone will be much higher, but it will flow much better.

I just bought a mufflex 4" catback with a dynomax muffler on it....the guy I bought it from said I'd probably have to remove the upper brace to install the exhaust then reinstall the brace once the pipe is in and up over the axle.
I'll find out in a couple weeks when its installed and post up...

It's easier to install it if you remove the bar, but you don't have to.

The exhuast that you bought, is it the Dynomax Bullet? If so, post up a sound file when it's installed. I'm curious how it compares to the flowmaster.

The catback I bought was one a local guy 'modified'. He gave me a 4" bullet to run in the I-pipe after the merge collector, and the rear section is a 6" case welded round dynomax racing muffler. He said it's pretty loud, but I would imagine that bullet in the I-pipe helps to tone down the rasp and drone some. I'm going to throw it on the car with the muffler in the rear section how it is, but I might end up throwing a 1 chamber flowmaster or hooker maximum flow 4" in/out muffler in there instead. I'm real curious how it'll sound too...it should definitely flow well!
