Wow I was just getting ready to post this. Okay I have Pacesetter LT headers on my SS. I decided to remove my air pump after the gasket the headers came with broke and i started to hear a ticking noise. I decided to make my own blockoff plates.
1.) Remove the air pump from the car.
2.) Once removed use a Hacksaw and cut the ends of the metal hoses off (The little piece where the bolts go thru)
3.) Then I got a stainless steel stove isle cover cost $1 at the dollar store
4.) Cut little pieces off of it and used JB weld you could prob use RTV sealant or anything to cover the hole.
5.) Bolted the ends back down
FInished result
Cost me absolutely nothing but about 10 minutes of time. I had all the stuff here

I made mine using an old road sign...just took the gasket for the AIR fitting that came with my headers, traced around it onto the sign, and used a set of snips to cut the plate out, then cleaned it up with a file. Marked the spots on the plate for the bolt holes, drilled them, sprayed the plates with some sandable high-temp primer, then installed the block-off plates using the gaskets that came with the headers (I know they're cheap, but they're not leaking, so what the hell). Did the same thing for my EGR fitting and all of the block-off plates still work fine, no leaks at all.

If the headers are off the car then take'em to a muffler shop, have them cut off and weld the holes up. But if they're still on the car I found that a heat shield from under the car works good
