Default Help ASAP!!! PLEASE

It's a 98 ta. left a power unit in the cigarette lighter and drained the battery. Went to start it today and had to jump it. Ones she fired up the idle was at 2000. I let her warm up a bit and gave the throttle a quick hit to see if the idle would come back down. It went up to 3200 and stayed there for about 10sec. then came back down to 2200. Then as I was looking under the hood. It surged on it's own all the way back up to 3500. It keeps going back and forth. I don't know what to do and I'm scared to drive the thing. Please Help!
I did a search on here but couldn't find anything that sounded like what I have.
Thanks Shaun.

It's normal for the idle to be grumpy after a dead battery/has to relearn. Try www.ls2.com/boggs/torques/pcmidle.htm

Wow didn't know it was normal to jump all over the place like that. I let it sit with a battery charger on it and she fired right up and idled perfectly at 1000rpms Thanks for the help though everyone.
