Default Knock sensor testing

So I got the infamous knock sensor code on the sensor closest to the radiator. I pulled the intake manifold and found the wiring to be kinked in a few spot but not split. I found out that the grommet on the valley cover had moved at an angle and let some oil in. I don't want to buy another knock sensor for nothing and would like to test that one out before i put it in. Is that possible? I replaced both about 30k ago when I got water in the hole of the same sensor but when i did it I swapped to the later style connector so I cant use the one that was good from the last swap.
