Default 2004 mustang gt header instal.

My buddy just baught MAC longtube headers for his car, and i told him i would put them on and his new stall converter. i was jsut wondering if any mustang guys in here have put longtubes on there car and how hard it is to do. Ive heard you ahve to jack up the engine and what not. Im not too worried since ive swapped 2 4.6 engines out of crown vics so im pretty familiar with the engine. Any comment or tips would be helpful thanx.

i put bbk longtubes on a 96 gt 4.6 wasnt fun i tell ya that. I had to tighten up a driverside bolt by turning it like 1/16 of an inch at a time thats all the room i had to fit a box end wrench up in there, socket wasnt even close.

I have put SLP longtubes on a 03-04 mustang GT. It was a pain. Alot harder than putting longtubes on my car. We ended up lowering the engine/k member to gain access on the bolts and unbolting the steering knuckle.

I've had 3 Mustang GTs (99, 02, 04) Yeah, they are a PITA to install headers.....so much easier on the LS1.

You are so screwed.

Took two of my buddies like 24 hours of work to get his Mac's on his 99. Me and a friend put some on his 96 cobra and we had to drop the whole K-member/front suspension out of his car. The bolts on the flanges are the biggest bastard in the history of man. The little 1/32 of a turn on the bolts for a few hours with a 2" long wrench was the only way on the cobra.

BTW, we do have a mustang forum.
