Default Help!

my car wont engine break...acceleration is good it pulls hard. ive had the car for lil over a year now and ive got a hurst short throw,LCA's,air intake, flowmaster cat back, let me try to clarify....say im running 2000rpms and in 4th i can drop it into 3rd and say it goes up to 2500-2700rpms. instead of the car even remotely slowing down its like its rolling in neutral and the car will hold stead at those rpms

If you're cruising in 6th at 70-80 and mash the gas, and the engine starts to rev, your clutch is done. Try that. Mines doing it right now.

You mean engine BRAKING.

I didn't know WTF you were talking about. Was your car tuned? You can set RPM decrease by speed, maby someone tweaked it?

Mine doesn't slow down very fast if I downshift, but it does slow down.

Brake is the thing on the floor. Break is when a rod comes out the side of the motor.

my bad on the spelling i just figured the car should engine BRAKE lol. nah its not tuned least to my knowledge when i bought it from the dealer it just had the intake,LCA's,short throw, and cat back exhaust, i just figured when i downshifted it should slow the car down some instead of sounding like its in neutral and im holding the rpms steady at 3000rpms

well quit holding it there, let your foot off the gas.. lol

weird my car slows down pretty good with engine braking.. not very good on the crappy 10 bolt rear though... if in neutral and your foot off the gas do the rpm's drop fast from 3k rpm's?

not really the rpms rise and fall slow all together...my sister has a 97 firebird 3.8 and it revs real quick. ima try cleaning the MAF and TB and see if that helps
