some say dexcool sucks..others never had a problem with it.

The green stuff works well too...

If cash isn't a problem Evans is the way to go...waterless coolant and it needs no pressure..so you could run w/out your cap.

Its personal opinion...Any brand is good..

If your not wanting to pull the block plugs & COMPLETELY drain every drop of coolant, use Dexcool & distilled water.

DO NOT use tap water. Its not clean enough & can cause build up in our aluminum blocks & heads. Same goes for mixing the coolant types. If your gonna change it to green coolant, either take the time to pull the plugs & do it right or take it in & have a shop convert it.

You cannot just use whatever on these cars. Don't listen to advise like that, especially from someone who doesn't even own a f-body.

It's difficult accessing the block plugs, and if you could then you would get coolant/water all thru your alternator and starter, which would certainly be a bad thing.

I've been using Dexcool with no problems... you have to check level regularly, and take care of any leaks immediately.

dude,

are you reffering to me?

I never said just run whatever. I simply said there both ok...And that all the brands are pretty much the same.

Besides what does it matter that I don't own an f-body..does that mean I am an idiot?Um I have owned vehicles before..and have ran many diffrent types of coolant.

My Duramax had 100K miles on it. I switched to the green stuff. Thats all I did..flush it out..and poured green in..

I then put another 165K miles on it after switching over..and Nothing went wrong

Not trying to start anything, but that was pretty shitty to say.

And yes...never use tap water..too much impurites, etc to mess up the coolant system.

If you lived in a warmer state just plain water works ok too...I have ran that in a few vehicles for many miles..

w/ aluminum heads always use 50/50 dex cool and distilled water. the green stuff will actually corrode aluminum. that's why now-a-days everyone uses dex cool b/c most blocks/heads are aluminum.
