Default Ported Fast 90 Intake!!!!!

Hey guys!!!! to start off my car is prety much stock right know, but i have some 1 3/4 KOOKS and catted Y just sitting in my room waiting to be put on. im planning on making close 500RWHP on my car with a nice head/cam pakege. so i defenetly want to get a ported fast 90 intake (since i have the ls1 intake). but for the moment i want to put on my headers, get the ported fast 90, and the NW throttle body and a nice tune for the time being until i save the money for my heads/cam.
but ive heard people say that a fast 90 intake might end up making me lose power not to mention a ported intake. Ill probably be saving money for about 6 months and i dont want my car to run like **** because i have to big of an intake. I need help so hear go my questions.

1. I know that a ported fast 90 intake is over kill for a car that doesnt have heads/cam, but since i have the ls1 intake will i atleast gain some hp until i get my heads/cam? or will it cause me to loose some?

2. How much does a ported fast 90 go for? do you guys have a link to someone that can port them, or has them ported already?

why don't you just get the intake and throttle body set it to the saide and save for the H/C package then install all of it at once. Because if not you'll be taking the intake off twice. You'll just have to tune it once also. just a thought

you only want to pay for a tune once, and you don't have to get headers tuned

trust me ive thought of waiting but every time i go into my room i see my headers and Y, and ive got my NW tb coming in next week and i know it will bug the hell out of me, and the 6 months it will take me to save $$$ is a long time to wait, it might take longer. i just dont want to loose power due to to big an intake for know, you guys think i will?

I say you will definitely gain power considering you have the LS1 on there now. You may lose a little down low or not...won't really know unless you dyno before and after. Good luck on getting 500RWHP on H/C setup. It's been done here lately but it's not easy.

why does everyone think that doing a FAST intake or porting it on a stock ls1 will cause the car to run like ****/act funny?

its a freakin intake.... it allows the car to breathe easier, whether its N/A or FI..regardless of the intake, if it is higher flowing and yadda yadda..then its going to get more power, there will be a limit, and when he does more mods he will get more power from it...

Ron @ Vengence has some ported and in stock, iirc. Get it ported now so you don't have to wait for it to get ported later. If I were you, and I could afford it, I would do the FAST now, you're not going to lose much if any low end power, it should run just fine. Plus you'll be ready for big numbers when the time is here. You're other alternative, is to wait till you get heads/cam. IF you are paying for someone to do the work, this is what I would do, so you only have to pay to have the intake put on once, and it will probably be free then, because it has to come off anyway for heads.

I'm nowhere near stock, but, waiting to get mine tuned after a F.A.S.T. 90/90 install yesterday. I was told to not get into the throttle too hard until it's tuned, but, I can feels gains everywhere thru the powerband ... though I haven't had it above 4500 rpm ... can't wait to get it tuned on the dyno and see what the numbers come out to. I'm hoping to see 20-30 RWHP and a slight TQ gain.
