Default which is the best throttle body to get?

i recently picked up a fast 78 from a buddy of mine thats been ported to a 85mm.
after purchasing my ls6 coolant lines. i now need a throttle body. there are a few companys that make a 85mm throttle body. bbk, trick flow and professional products seem to be the biggest names i can find.

The hell? Are you serious, or are you messing with him? I'm serious, I've never had a PP product that was worth anything. Their Typhoon intake didn't work with their 101mm TB, the fuel rails provided by them for use with their intake rubbed on the throttle cable bracket, the coil covers don't fit an F-body (even though they advertise they do), and their customer service did nothing for any of these issues!

If Professional Products was the only company that made aftermarket parts for my F-Body, I'd set my car on fire and start over with a mustang.

Yes, yes I am Seriously. I bolted a 101mm TB to THEIR intake with the stock throttle cable and cable bracket. The throttle would not go further than half closed no matter what I did. Bolted up a FAST 102 and it was perfect. Why? The throttle cam was about an inch offset to the passenger side. WTF. How can you produce a product to be used with one of YOUR products and not have it work?

Nothing! If anything, I would prefer the NW personally to the BBK or TF. But that's just personal preference right there, I've heard good things about the BBK.

I don't think so. 92mm is the smallest I've found from NW. I would think the 92mm would work ok with your setup. I haven't heard anything bad about the BBK TB's either.

Guys that have ported the FAST 78's to 85mm usually use the BBK.

I know several people personally that run PP TBs on LT and LS F bodies with zero issues, albeit they aren't running that 101 TB

If it HADNT been ported to 85mm, there is no better TB than a Shaner S3. Period. With it being an 85mm though, it's pretty much BBK or bust.

Agreed! I'd steer clear of PP. I bought one from a sponsor on here and (granted it was one for my fast 102) but that thing was a RAGING POS! I ended up just biting the bullet and getting a NW and calling it a day.

On another note...I have a PP Throttle body for sale...
