Default I want more power and less sound from a muffler.

Ok, so from looking at the sig below you should be able to get a pretty good feel for what I am running, mods wise. I have Jethot 1 3/4 long tubes that come to 3" true duals and have 2 chamber (2 bends) "turbo mufflers" w/ turn downs right before the axles. They look like bullets but they aren't. I have no h or x pipe.

I think that these mufflers are restrictive but they are still too loud. Could someone please recommend a way to quite this car down and improve exhaust flow? For the mathmaticians, it has a 402ci block, makes 500 rwhp thru the current exhaust, and about 675 w/ the 150 Shot. I have no back seats and don't intend on ever putting them back in. I say this because if I need space to put something bigger down there, I have the BFH mod ready and willing to use in order to make some space under there. Open to all suggestions including multiple mufflers on each bank.

Get the one chamber Flowmaster Delta Force mufflers. The 5.5" short stubby ones. I put mine in the little indentions under the rear seats with some small BFH'ing for the tubes. Much quieter and better tone than my short Sweet Thunders.
And get an X also.

SLP bullets or the magnaflows should do the trick.

I would think that bullets would be louder. Remember, these look like bullets but they are not straight thru mufflers. The exhaust actually make 2 turns in there.

I just looked up those single chamber deltas and they show that they only reduce sound by a small amount on the flowmaster website. Again, I want stealth. I don't care if I have to go to a dual 5" exhaust in order to make it breath and be quiet.

SLP Bullets is what I started out with. Way too loud. Like twice as loud as my current setup. I couldn't hear myself think in the car. Guys, I am looking for quiet first, then flow. But it has to flow even if I have to go up in size.

Well, I didn't see stealth anywhere in your first post. But, a quiet/stealth 500hp 402? You're kidding right?

It sounds like hes willing to do whatever to quiet the exhaust at the cost of some hp, which he has some to spare

I would think about putting 2 mufflers in line

Oval Borla XR-1's. Flow 1100+ CFM and are one of the quietest mufflers until WOT.

5" piping would be kinda hard to tuck up.

you could always add some of the magnaflow metal matrix high flow cats...you can always upgrade the muffler if that still doesnt do enough

One of the quietest versus the other straight thru mufflers or versus 2 and 3 chamber mufflers? I can't see how a straight thru muffler could be quieter than my 2 chambers.
