Default Running wide open exhaust setup on a LS1

Just seeing what everyone's opinion is on running straight through exhaust on a LS1...im runnin straights right now with the stock converters and y-pipe, just cut off stock muffler and plan on mocking up the original tips but with a length of pipe replacing the muffler..any suggestions b4 i continue....i want the wide open sound but hate the price of systems these days...they make me wanna..

It is going to be raspy for sure . If you were to add a race muffler or two it would sound cleaner . Check out the Borla x1 bullet mufflers or sweet thunders .

i ran LT's with 3" ORY and dump off end of y and it was crazy loud, but too loud for me
