Default Pacesetter Question

Ok I just got a used set of Pacesetter ceramic coated headers with the offroad y in from UPS today. I was just messing with them I was noticing how hard it was to make the headers slip fit onto the y pipe. Any advice as to how I should go about expanding the y pipe opening so I can easily slide the header in. Right now its a supertight fit since they were most likely clamped down and just force apart when the guy removed them. How can I open up a little bit?

I just had the same problem with my TSP Catted Y Pipe and pacesetters. All I did was tap the sides of the header collector with a 2x4 and a hammer till the y pipe slipped over.

Take it to a local exhaust shop. They can use their hydraulic pipe expander to open it up a small amount. I had an exhaust shop do something like that for me and they didn't charge. I slipped the guy $5 or $10 anyway.

hey, i just put Pacesetters on my car with the TSP catted-Y and when i mocked it up, one side didnt fit over the header, just take it to any local muffler shop and ask if they can just open it up a tad!! took the guy like .2 seconds to do it! Make sure u bring the header and the pipe so he can see how much he needs to open it up. good luck.

You could probably throw it in your oven if you wanted get the metal hot and let it expand.. I'm not sure if it would work or not though.
