Default Going from ls6 manifold to ls1

Alright guys i know your probably thinking why the hell would i want to replace my perfectly good ls6 manifold for a ls1 one. Well dont really care much for the performance difference and well i have a friend that really wants it so his willing to give me his ls1 plus some cash.

First questions: Is there anything i would have to do to make the ls1 manifold work on my car? i know about pluffing the egr stuff.

second questions: will it throw any codes?

Basicly just looking to see if there any alterations i have to do to my car to make it work.

Car is a 2002 a4 camaro z28

As far as I know, it's fairly straightforward. I wouldn't think there would be any alterations that had to made to make it fit.

On a different note though, I wouldn't do it. Tell him to buy one off of here.

1.) Don't do it!! If you don't care about improving your car or atleast maintaining it then you probably shouldn't be on here!

2.) ^^^ What he said. Tell him to buy it from one of our sponser's!

there's alot of wires and such by the intake, personally, i don't think its worth messing something up when your buddy can spend a little extra coin and get one for himself. besides, theres a guy on this board that buys LS1 intakes for 50 bucks a pop if he wants to save a little extra cash

^^^^^^^Listen to these guys! I would not alter the car in that way, that will make the car not original, and it is a downgrade. You could also run into problems if you resell the car and are dealing with an informed buyer. If I saw that intake on an 02 model I would be thinking "replacement motor". If you must though, this is a good site: www.ls1howto.com.

What about the coolant line that you have to switch to put an LS6 intake on an LS1? Wouldn't that have to be switched to the LS1 line? I say keep your car the way it is.

Tell him to buy one off ebay or from one of the sponsers that help keep this great site running. That idea is just stupid in my opinion.

You would have to switch your coolant plugs/line with his stuff, but it shouldn't cost you anything besides some wrench time. I still think it's a bad idea.

haha...seems like going into a performance oriented forum and asking questions on downgrading performance got you some yeah dude, as stated you shouldn't need much to swap for the LS1 intake. but it's just a bit of a hassle. tell your bud to buy his own...lol.

Who buys the LS1 for 50 bucks? My LS6 just showed up from SLP today. Under 400 bucks with coolant lines and gaskets.
