If it's got plenty of fluid, it's probably about to take a ****.

How difficult is it to change out the steering pump? Mine is whining too. How much did you pay for the pump?

I'm in the process of replacing mine now. The toughest part is getting the pump off the motor, but with some patience, it's not that difficult. If I wasn't lazy and didn't get up so late and didn't have to run to the parts store twice for a pulley puller then I would already be done.

This is the second time the PS pump has been replaced in this car. The first was while I was still under warranty, so the dealership took care of it, but unfortunately my steering rack has a small leak where one of the hard lines attaches near the middle of the rack. I've got to see if I can fix that without replacing the rack. If not I'll just have to pay more attention to the PS fluid level since the rack itself works fine.

I think my pump was like $50 plus core for a reman?
