Default Best intake

I just bought a K&N FIPK intake system for my 98 ss and I ended up getting the one for the v6 by mistake so I'm getting my money back tomorrow. I'm wondering should I buy the right K&N system or just an slp lid? What is the performance difference between the two? Are there any other good system out there? prices and performance gain?

The price is not worth it. I'd just get the lid like thousands of others and use the money you saved for another mod.

Wow that sucks, an SLP lid is usually around 80-90, and why waste the $$ on a stupid KN filter they suck anyway?

If you get a regular lid you can get the Super-Super Ram-Air SLP cold-air mod.

Cut a hole in the foam on your front bumper to make your grill actually functional and don't drive in a super downpour.

No one can argue that it doesn't work, you can argue water, but not it's functionality.

I'd do it, but I have more than one car.

I wouldn't worry about water either. I don't think your car is gonn be suckin in air hard enough to suck water 90* straigh up, thru a filter past the MAF & into the motor.

I have had my WS6 hood debaffled for well over a year now & drive in any weather consition. Filter has never even got damp.

Just get a lid & call it a day.

When you cut-out the grill and use a SSRA unit I would stay out of hurricane weather, but under anything normal and not a non-Noah scenario I wouldn't mind.

Almost like a Vararam system for the C5.
