Default Rear brake light kill switch

I've been looking for a switch to turn off all lights including the rear brake lights. I have most of my lights blacked out on my midnight blue but I want that swich for night time driving on the freeway. I've seen it on a vette around my house because he was driving with all the lights off and the brake light weren't comming on when he slowed down or stopped but I never got around to asking him and I don't see him any more. I know this is probably the but I hope someone can help me out. I found this web site but they don't give you any info on how to!!!!!! http://www.torquenstein.net/rl.htm

Right here bud.. I did it last week, traced the wires out for it. This is for the 4th Gen F-bodies, so far it has worked for a couple of people. Read it and you will know why there is 4 Switches.

I would try to get it a sticky, but I am not going to be responsible for someone getting into a wreck or getting a ticket.
This is where I have them located also, for some of you interested..

thanks a lot for that thats exactly what I wanted but it would have been better if all were on one switch. But I will do the job especially with the license plate flip from foxplate.com.

I know, I was wishing it would be one switch, but everything has to be independent.

Unless you get a 4 pole single throw switch. I'm sure someone makes one. I'll have to check around then.

i have a black car and the side marker front and rear are painted black and the bulbs are out, so if i wanted to just kill the tail lights and spoiler it would require a single throw 3 pole switch right? and it would be the yellow wires and green wire?

As far as the wiring is concerned I do not know, but if you need to break all 4 wires there is someone around that makes a 4 pole switch, hell I've seen those tiny little switches that're mounted in the picture come as a double pole double throw. I'm still looking for a 4 pole switch so you can break all 4 lines with one switch.

I'm an HVAC service guy so I'll go to electrical supply shops and see what they've got. I have to go to some tomorrow to pick up some things I'll check my grainger catalog to see what they carry.

You have to keep all 4 seperate to get the rear to completely black out and function properly. I have the writeup in the link that I posted. I was looking for one of those switches also, couldn't find one in the normal places.

Haha, wow. I'm surprised the mods have let this one go, considering you can't even post up about putting too wide of tires on your car

Its not illegal to have the ability to disable your lights.

Just like its not illegal to have the ability to do 170 MPH, but if you do then you get in trouble.

And it's not illegal to put wider tires than are rated for your wheels. It's just a safety thing that mod's usually try to nip in the bud before something bad happens and someone comes back to the site asking why we condoned something like that.

Anyway, moving on.
