Default Pacesetters got here today!!! got???

Well after only one day my pace setter headers are here thanks to byunspeed. The headers look great, but I was wondering if the y-pipe i got from them is going to restrict any hp since it has one flat bottom, and also what are all the little wires for. Oh and also the header gaskets that come from them totally suck, so i bought the gm gaskets. And again thanks Byunspeed.

What are these for
and these also

No loss in hp from the flat spot, the wires are for extending your front 02s by splicing them, and yes, the gaskets included do suck and getting OEM ones is the best way to go.

Yep, the wires and connectors are for extending the stock O2's. I also bought GM gaskets with my headers, but ended up re-using the stock manifold gaskets. They worked fine and did ntop leak.

You have to use the front 02s or your car will run like ****, there is no getting around that. The rears can get tuned out or you can use 02 simmulators. If you dont feel like splicing the wires just go and get some rear 02s from the vette. They have longer wires for the connections. Thats what im using.

The stock O2 sensors works for blocking the hole, shouldn't matter if it isn't connected if you're going to have it tuned out.

From what i understand, the front two do matter, with the A/F ratio. The rear ones are the ones that can be tuned out.

Correct. All I meant was that rather than lengthening the O2 wire for his rear O2's or buying something to block off the holes (since that was the OP is talking about doing), he could just use the stock O2 sensors to plug the bungs.

Wait what? There should be one O2 bung in each header, and then the y-pipe (my ORY did at least) should have two more O2 bungs. If you're talking about blocking off the O2 bungs in the headers, that is a BAD idea. You need those O2's for your computer calculate your A/F ratio.

Is the extra wire for lengthening the O2's on your headers themselves?

The front O2 sensors are the ones that thread into the bungs on your headers. These are very important. You must use them.

The rear O2 sensors are only used to monitor catalyst efficiency. Since you no longer have cats, you won't need them. However the Service Engine Soon light will come on.

Candy the o2 SENSORS you disconnect near the k-member are gonna be the front o2's, if you look at the tail end of the Pace header(the collector, on the inside there is a hole, that's where you bolt the front o2's. 1 on each header. They are also the ones closest to the heads so you can get an idea. When I installed my pace LT's I left all the o2 sensors on the factory exhaust system. Then when both sides were out I took out the front o2's, one on each side, the ones that are closest to the front of the car. Catch my drift. They say not to mix the fronts with the rears cause it has caused other members some problems. Then as soon as my service engine light came on, I went to autozone and had the guy read my codes and made sure that the only problem I had, were the rear o2 codes, til Speedinc can tune my car next month!!! PLease let me know if I didn't elaborate enough. I read and searched about 2 weeks til I gathered enough info to install my self. It took me about 3.5 hrs with the help of my Uncle George of course.

I do not like cutting factory wireing if I don't have to so I searched and found a set of O2 extensions on a certain on-line auction. They come in a pair, 12" for the passenger side and 24" for the driver side. They run about $30 for this set but can be made in custom lengths.

Are they ******* joking? I paid $35 more for the O2 extensions and they're just wires with a bag of connectors?! What a bunch of ****.
I do not like cutting factory wireing
If I were to use this **** I'd splice the O2 sensor wires, not the factory harness.

Jesus Christ? What the **** is all this misinformation going around in here?

Along with MAF sensor, the front 02 sensors (on header) are critical in PCM air/fuel calculations. You can tune out the rear 02's because they only monitor the condition of the cat(s).

Save for some of you guys, I'm terrified. Tune out the front O2's. ****.
