160 Thermostat? Should i Do it. Please Help Ok I am getting my Pacesetter LTs ORY cutouts LS6 intake and ported TB installed. Plus a dyno tune. Should I get a 160 stat before I get them installed?

Yeah, thats what I had - I have it stay right around 175 degrees minimum, because as most know, LS1's like a LITTLE heat at least. 160's too cold if I remember right.

No problem with mine either(10 months so far). you can go to ORielly's and i think it's the 6.0 trucks or what not that have them and there only like 12.00 instead of 50. And it's the same motorad piece anyways just with out the hypertech box

I had a 160* stat in the bird, and it was tuned, coolant temp held steady at 182* (I had a 98). Good mod, keeps the engine running cooler. It has yet to be proven that a hotter engine makes more power, in lsxs.
