Default Jet Hot y-pipe Leak Solutions

Hello,

I have a Jet Hot Y-pipe. And it bothers me. It consistantly leaks. Has anyone with this setup found any solutions? It appears the problem is that either the length of the cat is too short since it slips either too far forward or too far backward and creates a gap between the two butted pipes in which the cats sit. Or, The band clamp is not large enough so that it wraps completely around the cat/pipes, creating a seal when completely wrenched down.

Any inputs greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Rick M.

I rolled up aluminum foil and wraped it around the joints and tightened the clamp over it and it sealed good.

I had a jethot setup on my last car. I used the Napa TorcTite band clamps at all connections and used some high temp exhaust RTV. Never leaked on me

I like to cut some short slots on opposite sides of each inlet and outlet so when you clamp it the ends can close in a little tighter. This also makes it easier to separate exhaust if you need to.
