Default Installing QTP's, few questions

May sound stupid, but last time I did my headers and others, I was able to stand under the car. I am going to do mine in my garage. Just wondering how high you guys had to lift the cars up to get the driver side in, like an actual measurement if possible? I am just wanting to make sure I have everything I need to get the clearance needed.

I also am wondering if it is possible to slip them in through the top after removing the steering shaft. Dont know if that would be an easier way, or if it wouldnt work and I should not even attempt it. I looked around and it seems everyone had to get the car pretty damn high, but its hard to tell exactly how high lol Maybe I will just find someone with a lift...haha

Thanks

I used ramps with blocks of wood on them to get it up about 20in. I had to unbolt the trans from the crossmember and push it tward the passenger side while bubba wrassled the header in. Hard to do, took 8 hrs,off and on but well worth it, and can be done with 2 guys. Good luck

I think 20" from the K member to the ground is about right.
Rolling style jack maxed out with some wood scraps should do it.

I dont have a measurement but a good 2 1/2 ton jack with a 4x4 block of wood under the k member will give you good room. Just put some jack stands under the chassis just in case.

Just remember, you've got to have the drivers side nearly vertical to the ground to get it in there. I used a 3-ton extra lift SUV jack in the left front subframe and it went it. Just make sure, whatever you do, to use jackstands ;D

yeah I know it, trust me lol. I just changed the clutch in the garage and had about 6 under the car, cant be too safe.

I will be able to see more at least once I get the headers in. I am impatient so as long as I have everything at the house, I can get them right in the day they come lol.
