Question Low idle after LT/ORY install.

After LT and ORY install, I've changed the plug wires (Autolite Proffessional) and had the Y-pipe welded in so I don't have any leaks and it still feels a little soggy on acceleration and jumpy in drive. In drive, it idles at about 500 and sometimes jumps between 400 and barely 600. I'm lost now, what else should I do? Any suggestions.......ANYONE.

Check you O2's & plugs. Other than that I can't think of anything else that would make it run funny right off hand. Heck, mine didn't even run like that open headers.

Changed O2 sensors, but I'm still idling low, 500RPM, in drive and park. Anything else?

If you are an A4, your idle speed is ok. You can try giving it a little more air by opening the TB set screw a 1/2 turn and then reset the PCM so it relearns the idle, etc.

Do you have logging software? anything else is just a guess.

How could I reset the PCM? Would it be advisible to reprogram the Hypertech tuning back to stock?

Mine wouldn't idle at all after the LT install. Of course this was without a Ypipe as I was running open headers. I had to keep it running with my foot on the throttle for a couple of minutes. Once the PCM learned the new idle valve positions she idles fine. I would drive it some and see what happens.....it might straighten itself out.

500 is to low imo, either bump the idle screw up to it idles at 600-650 or drill the hole bigger in the throttle blade

What about a break-in period, is there any? I currently only put about 75 miles on the headers. At what mileage should the PCM adjust itself?

Do as Ragtop suggested. Do the Idle reset by pulling the IAC harness, turning your ignition to the "on" position (don't start the car) for 30 seconds, turn it off, reattach the harness, and then start the car. Adjust the throttle body screw out a little if needed.

Do NOT drill your throttle body blade at this point.
