Default Thermostat Ques.

Getting car tuned this week after doing H&C this last week. My new water pump replacement came with a 180* stat. Should I change it to a 160* or keep the 180*. I thought the 160* would be better cuz it would run cooler especially here in Central Tx. Recently I heard that putting a stat that cool keeps the motor from the proper operating temp. Please advise. Tuning on Tuesday morning when I got out from FD. Thanks

that 180 will be fine even in texas. these motors run better a lil warmer anyways but if you are REEALLY concerned about it you can go ahead and swap em.

I went with a 160* Hypertech. Car runs around 180-185.

I just installed a 160 stat this weekend i just figured why not couldnt hurt. I live in Atlanta it gets pretty damn hot and humid hear in the summer so i thought it would be worth it.
