Default What could I stand to gain from a tune?

I have basically all of the bolt-ons right now except the water pump and UD pulley, and I'm wondering if it might be a good idea to get a tune before I do the cam sometime in the next couple years?

How much better could my power/times possibly get with a good tune? I have a couple people around here that are supposed to be very good tuners, so I will be able to get almost as much out of it as possible.

The thing that made me wonder if maybe I needed a tune was that this last time I went to the track with a new LS6 intake, Shaner ported TB, debaffled/sealed hood, and TB bypass I gain a whole .1 and 1mph, which is a lot less than I expected. So I didn't know if maybe I needed a tune because of what that shows.

Thanks

Friend of mine gained 16rwhp and like 20rwtq from exhaust/lid to tune/exhaust/lid. His car is a 2002 though, and they only have about 19* of timing from the factory.

Ok, thanks. Since I don't know a lot of the real technical stuff yet I'm not sure what that means for him compared to me... but thanks . lol

I would get it tuned now. There's no telling how much you might gain, every car is different. But all the boltons means you are ready for a tune. Highly recomended. Remember when you get your cam, full tune will be much less 2nd time around.

Definately invest in a tune. Your a/f ratio could probably really be improved as well as shift points, ect. Get the car running right! Plus at most places, a retune is usually cheaper in case you add mods later.

Yeah it is. I would be taking it to Chad at Green Light Motorsports. He is only about 45minutes or an hour from me. He charges $275 the first time and small things after that are free, big things are $100 retune(like a cam).

I was really surprised to find that I still have quite a bit of rasp with my new duals when I have heard everyone say they have zero rasp. Could that be something that would go away with a tune? I think I remember something about A/F ratios being bad causing rasp.... i don't remember for sure though.

Cats' may kill the rest of the rasp. They'll help with the smell too (assuming it bothers you.)

IMHO, get a tune, especially with an A4. I think you'll be happier all the way around.

I think I am going to. The smell doesn't really bother me actually. I'm kinda starting to associate it with power . lol. If there is still as much rasp as there is now after the tune then i don't know what I'll do exacty. Why would I have this much if everyone was saying duals don't have any rasp?

I think I might take my car there too eventually. I've heard plenty of good things about his tunes. Post up how your times improve with the tune.

+1 on the tune! Now would be a great time, esp. since you have LT's installed.
