Repair of a cracked intake manifold.

Repair of a cracked intake manifold.
Anybody try to fix a cracked intake manifold? I have a LS6 manifold that the vacum fitting on the back got pushed into the manifold, cracking the mounting area around the fitting. I was thinking I could fix this with some epoxy and maybe some material off of my old LS1 manifold. Am I way off base here ?

Sorry to hear that Mark.. Just was curious if you sent that resume out to my friend. He asked me if I knew someone interested in a IT job and I asked him if he rec'd your resume and he said no... Drop me a email if you lost his email address. They have immediate openings..

Thanks, I'll give that a try. I'm thinking of cutting the back out of my old LS1 manifold and using the JB weld to "glue" the piece into the Ls6 manifold. I would just build up the JB weld, but I'm not sure I could get it shaped exactly right to seal the vacuum fitting.

Thanks, I'll look around to see if I can find somewhere local. Then I can put the repaired one on my car and sell the good one. Maybe then I can afford some new slicks so I can run again <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />
