Default do need a better maf

do u guys think i need a new maf sensor with heads, cam, fast 90mm intake and tb combo? im just wondering if the aftermarket ones are better, or just a waste of time/money. i know 16 years olds waste alot of money on pointless stuff too.

Default no

No your maf is fine i have seen 650 hp turbo cars run stock maf with zero problem . Beside i believe they are rated up to 500 hp anyway . No need to waste your money on that !

I have seen a lot of people post they have had gains of 2-3 HP so thats not a waist for 180 bucks in my book. I am buying one this week. More airflow equals more power at least last time I checked. I could never get a solid answer as to why its considered a waist when you gain HP? You wont get a straight answer. You will hear the stock one is good up to xxx HP and thats all good but if I can get a bigger one that makes more power then why not buy it?

don't do it. when you get it all on there just get it tuned. you'll need a tune anyway after you install that cam so go to a reputable tuning shop w/ LS1.edit or hptuner and they may be able to pull you out over 20 hp

$180 for 2hp? You think that's a good deal? That'd buy you a ring and pinion, or 1 soft compound tire...and that'd do a helluva lot more than 2hp.

You won't feel a difference with a MAF change. I would only change it for two reasons, the first being that the stock MAF is damaged, and the second being if another MAF would make tuning easier. I don't think either are the case for you.

Yeah 180 for 2-3 rear wheel HP is cheap in my book. Its a 5 min swap for under 200 bucks. You wont always be able to buy bang for the buck parts. Eventually you will get to that point to where you get less for the money. This isnt it though. Yeah you might get a ring and pinion but after you pay for install then how much are we talking? Ok by that time I could of gotten a Nitrous kit which is the real bang for the buck.

let me guess you got a slp maf stock or sd tune. stock with a tune after you get that cam will surpass any aftermarket maf, that is hard to tune. you could just save your money get tuned...then have them go speed density !maf
