True duals done! Let my season begin! So early this morning I drove to a little shop about half an hour away.
In this shop we ripped off the old exhaust and built a tight fitting true dual exhaust. 2.5 inch, stainless steel, dynomax bullets (basically a straight pipe), to stainless steel Z28 tips.
Yes I have cats, 2 3 inch magnaflow cats.
clearance is... well great!
It's tucked in quite nicely, no banging whatsoever, has an x meeting just after the transmission.
Pics are being loaded, but I only had my damn cellphone camera.
The sound at idle is more than tolerable, it's only bassier than stock and still retains that quiet tone. Rev it a bit and it changes dramatically. Above 2krpm it's some good ol v8 lovin and ripping it is like hell broke loose.
I recommend cats on true dual setups. It takes care of drone, it takes care of the smell and it makes even dynomax bullets sound good.
