Default Y pipe? yes or no

I have a 2000 Z28 M6 convert and it has Slp LM1. I love the system but i was wondering if i should get the slp y pipe. I have seen it for about 170 bucks and adds 10 hp. Does this bolt up to the stock cats? if so will it make my car louder?

Stay away from all the hype from companies making claims of more HP. Use the search feature and look for dyno results. But, even that's distorted unless two dyno comparisions are done in exactly the same weather conditions on the same dyno. Exhaust is about the best thing you can do for a M6 car IMHO, so, if it flows better, you'll pick up a few numbers ... don't think you'll get 10 with that Y over what you already have. I'd save up and change out the entire exhaust for true duals over the axle. which I wish I'd have done .... ended up completely changing my whole Y and catback 4 times. The money I spent could have bought me a lot of go-fast parts.

Changing the Y-pipe is a wast of time. If you want more power save your money and but some LT and ORY. Then you will see a good power increase. I have heard of people changing the stock y-pipe out and loosing power. Its not a good idea IMO.

Changing only part of the y pipe (behind the cats) is pointless.
