its all about the angle, most drivers side headers have to have the flange pointed up in the air straight up and sometimes pointed alittle towards the back and go right upaginst the firewall. taking the steering shaft out helps most of the time.
the passengers side get the rear bolt, number 8 plug and wire all from underneath the car, even the number 6 plug and wire also.
the dipstick is held on by the 15 mm bolt on the head, once the bolt is out wiggle it gently and pull up should come out with a tad of force, just dont try to angle it or bend it.

uhh grinding what tab?....am i missing something here
the simple thing for me was standing on top of the lift, undoing the steering knuckle, and having my friend underneath aligning the headers and i put the bolts in
there shouldnt be anything else in the way....some heat sheilds maybe....but just bend them....

Oil will not go every where and pull the steering knuckle and you will get the room you need. grinding the tab is for clearance issues but there are none with the steering shaft removed
