Default LS6 intake vs. 6L Truck intake

I searched and only found 2 things that talked about this and neither of them where really answered.
I am wondering if the 6.0 Truck intake would be better then the LS6 (vette) intake on a head/cammed stock cube motor (hell even a stroker). I know the longer runners would give me MORE torque down low and mid range which is what I am after but will I loose alot of top end (past 5500rpm)? A little loss up top is expected but how much (guestimating)?

I know its smaller than my LS1 but the 5.3 truck intake pulls ALOT more air up 'till about 5000rpm then starts REALLY dropping out compared to an LS1 intake. So would the 6L intake do about the same thing?

(NOTE: The motor is in a conversion so I don't have clearance issues.)

From things I have read the 6L Truck intake is about just as good as the FAST setup. Thats why I am asking this. If that is true than I will get myself a Truck intake for a HELL of alot CHEAPER than the FAST setup.

My motor is not under the cowl so I have no issues with height.

Anyone with any comparison info on the two intakes?

Well I found that ALOT of LS2 guys go back to the LS6 intakes because they make more power and everyone that has a 6L Truck intake runs out of air at 5000-5200max. Granted they have very fat torque on the bottem end there is no power above 5200. I guess I will just find me a LS6 or FAST 90/90, as your first suggested Tainted...I was just looking for something a little better but I guess I would need L76/L92 setup for that.

My LS2 Trailblazer SS has the truck intake you are talking about (stock). Alot of the guys that are building their motors (408, H/C, etc.) are keeping the stock intakes as they make alot more low end and mid range power. And supposedly, it doesn't fall off all that much on top.

My TBSS is only bolt-ons but I can tell you that it pulls hard all the way to 6500rpm on each shift (no falling off of power over 5000rpm).

But, if you are looking for overall highest hp, you probably want to go LS6 or FAST.

The truck intake is NOT better than FAST or an LS6 intake. A truck intake will produce a better torque gain on the bottom but it will fall out at the top end of the RPM band. You can get the OEM LS6 intake about as cheap as the truck intake. Besides I really don't think it'll fit under your hood.
