Default !AIR question

OK so I took AIR off. one of the gaskets came off fine and the other well I don't really know where it went. There wasn't really anything there. So the block off plate isn't really on there tight no matter how much I tighten the bolts down. I don't want to break the bolts off or anything.
I guess my question is can I out some RTV on there?? Or will the manifolds get too hot and the RTV melt or something??

Thanks.

The RTV will just melt, its only good to about 450*. If it is the stock manifolds just put some quick steel over the hole and let it set. It will never leak. I know its kind of a ghetto way but it works and of course only do that if you never plan on putting AIR back on it. After the quick steel has set you can sand it smooth and make it look good. Or just go get your self the cheap little gasket.

Just get a piece of gasket paper and cut out the gasket yourself.

depending on how thick the block off plates are you may have to get longer bolts. i had the plates from speed inc and had to get some longer bolts because the stock ones had bottomed out.

uhh... what now?

the plates i got from speed inc were too thin and my bolts too long...

I ended up putting a few washers on top of the block off plates (I had ordered gaskets from speed inc as well) and it sealed up perfectly...
