Default FRPP dual-mode mufflers?

I was slumming on FRPP's website and saw the mufflers they sell for their Cobra kits, which are those neat dual-mode mufflers. Anybody had any experience with these? Think it'd sound good on an LSX?

From what I can tell they are like a typical turbo muffler then, when pressure within the muffler exceeds a certain point, a valve inside opens up and it becomes wide open like a straight pipe, likely without any muffling. I thought that these'd be more popular than they apparantly are, as they offer the best of both worlds. Mellow and plenty of backpressure when daily-driving combined with wide-open no-muffling when pushed hard. The new Corvettes are supposed to have an option for this kind of muffler system and Ferraris come with these as well...

thats why they aren't more popular right there...$375 for a muffler or $100 muffler + $35 for a cutout...or even $150 for an E-cutout.

FRPP rarely go for the "suggested list" still though the cheapest price I've seen was just under $300 for the pair. There's two at that price. Most Mustangs run dual exhausts, so $100 x 2 = $200 for mufflers + $35 x 2 for cutouts = $70 + fab costs = more than the cost of fully automatic self by-passing mufflers. Probably the reason they aren't more popular is the small diameter of the pipe. Everybody builds for 500+ HP even if they don't make 300.
