what heads do i have?!?!?!
ok....so im totally lost here...got a "supposed to be stage 3 patriot heads" from the ws6 store. Now, the title says "98-02 LS1 Patriot LS6 "Style" 5.7L Stage III Heads" but i got them in today and on the bottom of the head it says 6.0. WTF? im so confused. The valve size, and the springs are right for the stage 2, and 3's but it looks like they are lq9 heads, for the 6.0 liter. is there any markings on these other then what im seeing to indicate that they are what the ws6store is selling? and im i totally stupid in assuming that the 5.7 heads for the ls6 and the 6.0 heads for the lq9 are different castings? anybody who has these heads, is more then willing to put in some info!

It's been known for a while that Patriot uses other castings in building their "LS6 Style" heads.
They're fine pieces and have plenty of happy customers, personally I'd prefer that route than hogging out LS6 castings and having problems like the SpeedGT cars were having back in '05.

As far as I've read, they use the higher end 6.0 head and weld the chambers up and cnc them to the desired cc. The higher horse 6.0 engines, like in the SS pickups use what is essentially and LS6 head with a larger combustion chamber. The rest of the characteristics of the heads are the same, I think. Just as good in my opinion! Nice set of heads!
