Borla 3" adjustable for '02 trans am
I understand that the borla 3" adj catback system is in fact adjustable because of some kind of different plates...My question, then, is where do these plates go, how hard are they to change out, and which one is recommended for street use? Thanks

right after the exhaust pipe comes over the axle, it splits, passenger side goes into a 3 bolt flange, then out to the tip. at that flange is where you can insert the plates.
the other side of the split goes into the muffler and out the driver side tip.
as for which one is for street use, depends on local law enforcement tolerances, and your personal tolerances and preferances.
but in all reality...performance wise...a borla is a $600 cutout.
stick with a cheaper exhaust, install a $30 cutout and be done with it.

I run an open borla plate on my T/A and I was running LT's and ORY and it was loud and i loved it!
The borla is nothing but a giant cut out, but keep in mind the plates can be changed and even with a closed plate flows very well, jsut as good as corsa and the other big names. its stainless steel, and the adjustable plates and those sexy tips make it well worth the cost IMO. I wouldnt get rid of mine for the world.

Same here! Loud as Bawls and I love it! .. I'm loving the rasp! .. and ORY = No cats..
THe I pipe is split. One pipe goes to the driver's side is muffled. THe pass side can be adjusted like a cutout.
