Default RandomTech catbck= 22RWT & 20RWH (Sound?)

Last night I was looking through some old mag's and I found to dyno runs using Random Tech catback. Both showed a gain of 20 horsepower and 22 pounds of torque to the rear wheels. So far, this seems to be the best flowing catback but what do they sound like? Does anyone have one or has anyone heard one? Its a straight through muffler and it sells for $319. I really want one but I want to make sure it sounds good and does't resonate. Any help would be appreciated.

I have that one.It sounds GOOD...not loud but kind of rumbley throaty at low RPM s....at WOT it sounds REAL GOOD WWWWAAAAAAAGGGGGHHHHH.My only complaint is the tubes are aluminized so they start to rust at the slash cut tips.No big deal..When they get ugly I'm just going to chop them off and weld some stainless tips on.

I have it as well. Inside the car is great, you don't actually know how loud it is at full throttle unless you are outside the car. Sounds really nice.

If I would have to do it again I would get the Hooker cat back. The RT cat back is ok if you don't mind only one tip being black from the exhause fumes. It is starting to get to me, and it is loud with headers and no cats.

I also have the RT catback. That combined with my other mods makes this catback pretty loud. Of course I also have a cutout which is REALLY loud. As far a one tip being black inside and the other not, just paint both flat black inside and be done.

I had the Random Tech catback a while ago when my car was basically stock. I liked the sound of it but I wanted something a little louder so I bought the Loudmouth. Two years and many mods later I'm going back to the Random Tech when I do headers in a couple weeks. I only picked up 3 rwhp with the Random Tech over the stock SS system.

I put the Random Tech on my old 2000 Z28 and I kid you not, it was removed two whole hours later. The reason why I was soooooo disappointed in it was because it was absolutely no louder than stock at idle or cruise(I had both my windows down and still couldn't hear it!). And it had a "weird" resonating/buzzy sound at around 2000rpm(I have no idea why?). Anyways, since it was not at all what I wanted, I shortly thereafter replaced it with a Borla which was 100x better to me.

Try and hear it as well as others in person before you make your choice because that is just my personal opinion of this exhaust.

The RT catback does get louder as time goes on. I changed the muffler due to the passenger side rusting with a Dynomax Ultra flow.

I have had the RT for 2 years. It has a deep sound while cruising and no rasp. Gets loud when you romp on it.

I've got one sitting here, used it for a year.

Make any offer.

I loved it when I had it on, first with stock headers, then with FLP headers and ORP. Sounds great at WOT.
