Yes they work but merge collectors need to matched to the application. From what I have seen best results come from dyno testing to match the combination. Also it is my understanding that merge collectors work best with cams with a fast closing exhaust ramp.

IMHO... NO! I read a post recently from Nick at Kooks about this. I think he said that the collectors are mostly all race applications when you want to squeeze every 1 HP from it. He said that they are worth about 5-8 HP.

Re: QTP Headers... High Velocity Merge Collectors?
no..i didn't know they to had them ..damn, and they actually are MORE expensive than the QTPs..sheesh. guess my response was just an assumption based on that the kooks sponsor on here made a thread on a post of mine telling those of us who are waiting for our QTPs to cancel our orders and order his headers instead. personally I hope some do so I move up the list

Re: QTP Headers... High Velocity Merge Collectors?
I cancelled my order with QTP and went with Kooks. I waited for over 2 months and kooks delivered in 2 weeks. I originally had merge collectors on order with QTP, but after talking with a few people, not just Kooks and QTP - merge collectors weren't recomended for a ypipe application. If you used the dual cutouts on the ypipe - that might make them more beneficial, but don't expect that in every application they are going to be worth 15 more HP.

Re: QTP Headers... High Velocity Merge Collectors?
Alright. My car will have stock internals for autocross classing reasons. However,it will have all the normal bolt-ons. I want to squeeze out max horsepower under the rules.
With that in mind, will I benefit from using QTP headers with merge collectors through a dual cutout y in my application?
Thanks all!
