has anyone put headers on without a gasket?i had a mechanic tell me on chevy's he used red high heat silicone and no gasket(as long as you have good headers with a big flange) and they never had a problem with the gaskets blowing out.anyone doing this and it working let me know i am in the stages of getting headers and replacing my stock exhaust.

Default Re: no header gasket?

You can't beat the stock metal gaskets. If you have any concerns, just buy a set of new stock metal gaskets from the dealer. Or you can reuse your old stock gaskets.
