Default exhaust question

well i just got my 2000 Z28 and i was wondering how can i get more power out of it with some exhaust mods i dont want to mess with the headers so cat converters and muffler are my bets so. im new to this ls1 stuff so i don't know how it will perform removing cats or a better flow muffler .. i don't need it to be street legal so... removing cats and replacing muffler is a good option to get more hp's ? i like my no cats + 3" bullet muffler in my truck but this car seem to be at other level of technology so help is appreciated

That thread is very informative and very well explained ... i will go that route then removing cats and replacing the actual muffler for a bullet one . i will need a programer to remove the ses light that will come out after removing cats right ? my question is for if i going to notice performance improve at the 0-3100 rpm range ?

ya find someone locally who will remove the SES error for you. You will notice a bit, cause your freeing up some of the air flow. it should be a little bit snappier, if anything you will get that loud aggressive sound our cars are meant to have
