Default Borla too quiet

Just a few days ago, I went and had the plate removed from my Borla. I'm dissappointed that it is barely noticeable . The only difference is it's slightly louder when reving. Cannot really tell the difference. Anyone have any input on what I can do to make this a little louder without killing my wallet. On a tight budget right now . Would love to get some longtubes, but cannot afford right now.

assuming you have a 00-02 then get a set of Off road pipes and O2 simms, they bolt right on and i am sure it will be plenty loud for you. I am running a Borla with the smallest plate and ORPs on my SLP headers its plenty loud. If you have a 98-99 then you can still get ORPs but they will need to be welded.

I've heard some people say they have gutted their cats, what about that mod? Don't know how to do it, but am interested to know. This is on a 1998 Z28 a4.

If I were you I would buy one of the Mac off road Y's and some 02 sims. That should be loud enough for you. Here is what mine sounds like wide open with TR 224 cam FLP's with no cats. Short video IMOP it is too loud.

Gutting the cats is easy. All you need is a long screwdriver and a hammer. inserts the screw driver until it hit the screen in the cat then get the hammer and whack away. the cat on the driver side will be easy but you'll have to get the passenger side taken off to gut it. or get it cut of and get a straight pipe welded in its place.
