Default WS6 vs SS Air lid base, have you noticed?....

I was looking at some pictures between a WS6 and my SS and noticed that that TA's air lid base has a much larger opening below the filter.

Has anyone swapped these out before? Is there a performance gain (even minimal) ?

Or is it a clearance issue based on the hoods?

So will it fit the SS, or is the hood too low?

Thanks, that what I figured. Did he say whether it was worth it to swap it out?

WS6 is a little over twice as tall opening as the rest of the f-body radiator support/lower airbox's

It's built that way to capture the incoming cool air from the scoops. The air exits up high over the top of the baffles out of the backside of the hood brace, IIRC.
